I started Serenity Sound Healing in 2025, after a sound bath left me regulated for days. I had spent years studying emotion and the nervous system, but that was the first time the work landed in my body instead of my head. It also showed me something I had been looking for: a way in that doesn’t ask anything of you first. No intake form, no explaining yourself, no language for what you’re carrying. You lie down, and the sound does the rest. For a lot of people, and especially for people of color, that lower barrier is the difference between beginning and never starting at all.
That belief, that everyone deserves an accessible way to understand and regulate themselves, is the heart of my work. Kelly Jean once described emotional regulation as “crime prevention, addiction prevention, suicide prevention,” and generational healing, because when we learn to move through discomfort without exploding, imploding, or shutting down, we stop handing that pattern to everyone around us. I believe that completely. It’s the foundation of a world where people can disagree without dehumanizing each other, and where accountability doesn’t feel like an attack.
During college, I taught social and emotional learning to children through USC’s Joint Educational Project, and that experience stayed with me. It showed me how much changes when people are given the space and the skills to understand themselves early.
Today, as a certified sound healer and breathwork facilitator grounded in my training and my Master of Science in Applied Psychology, where I studied burnout, psychological safety, team building, and organizational culture, I guide individuals, groups, and organizations back into alignment. I’ve led 85+ sessions: with nonprofit partners including A Place to Call Home and A Step Closer to Freedom, in ongoing collaboration with the California Black Women’s Mental Health Project, with formerly incarcerated individuals, with sorority chapters and sisterhoods, and with organizations working to strengthen psychological safety and the way their teams move through conflict together.
What comes next follows the same thread. I’m building programs for women ready to come home to themselves, and work with young girls that puts these tools in their hands early, long before anyone has to repair.
It has been my pleasure creating space for people to reconnect with their bodies, reclaim their peace, and rebuild the self-trust that makes real transformation possible, because when you learn to feel safe within yourself, you don’t just heal, you expand. And from that place, anything becomes possible.
Thank you for tuning in. I hope to meet you very soon, and if we’ve already met, I can’t wait to see you again.
